Retail & Food Chains – cold cabinets, freezers & Smart Micro-Door™ retrofit
The Green AC&DC Energy™ retail module focuses on the most expensive part of your electricity bill – the cold chain. Vertical cabinets, island freezers, walk-in rooms and back-of-house refrigeration are optimised and upgraded, including Smart Micro-Door System™ retrofits for open cabinets. The result: less kWh per store, more comfort for customers and a transparent ΔE* model for ESCOs and investors.
Key benefits of the Green AC&DC Energy™ retail pilot
A retail pilot is not only about replacing cabinets. It is about how the entire cold chain behaves – from open cabinets with Smart Micro-Door System™ to back-of-house coolers and night covers – with clear kWh, € and CO₂ indicators per store and per m².
Lower kWh per cabinet and per metre
Vertical cabinets, island freezers and walk-in rooms are mapped and optimised. Inefficient units are replaced or upgraded, and operating parameters are aligned with real opening hours and product needs.
Retrofit for open cabinets – without changing the whole line
Where architecture or sales logic require open cabinets, Smart Micro-Door System™ can be used as a retrofit. It reduces cold spillage into the aisle and stabilises cabinet temperature with minimal impact on visibility and access.
Better comfort, product quality and emissions
Warmer aisles, fewer “cold corridors”, more stable product temperatures and lower electricity bills – all tied together through ΔE* monitoring for ESCO partners, banks and your board.
From one model store to a chain-wide plan
The retail module starts with one or a small cluster of model stores. ΔE* is used to document the effect and build a bankable, ESCO-ready plan for replication across the chain.
Inventory & baseline
All cabinets, freezers and cold rooms are mapped: type, age, refrigerant, technical data and typical loading. Existing invoices and sub-metering (where available) are translated into a ΔE* baseline.
Scenario & Smart Micro-Door
Together with the chain and ESCO we define which units are replaced, which are retrofitted with Smart Micro-Door System™ and where operating regimes are adjusted. Only solutions consistent with Green AC&DC Energy™ logic are used.
Monitoring & rollout plan
After implementation we track ΔE* per store. The pilot becomes a template for the rest of the portfolio – including a technical and financial roadmap for ESCO contracts or your own CAPEX.
